James was born December 6th, 1952 in Cotton Plant Arkansas. He came from a big family and he was the 5th of 11 children.
As Child, he had many health challenges which resulted in having a limited formal education, but despite the odds, he lived to pass his expectancy of the age of six.
James was always very eager to learn the best way that he could, he made sure that all four of his children had a good education and made sure that they all graduated from high school. He was able to witness the oldest granddaughter Tynaya graduate from Michigan state university, and his second oldest grandson Derrick would later graduate from Barry University, even though he didn’t live to see that his last words were “ Keep The main thing the main thing and finish strong “ this scholarship is to help children to continue on with their college education and to finish strong!
